What Is the Recovery Like?
The short, mild recovery is part of what has made our laser skin resurfacing with UltraClear increasingly popular. The amount of time patients spend away from daily routines will depend on the intensity of the treatment. Depending on treatment intensity, patients can expect somewhere between < 24 hours and 10 days of downtime.
However, the downtime from laser treatments is different from that of surgery. Surgical downtime requires bedrest and allows for almost no activity for a week or more. Even for intense laser treatments, you can typically go about routine home life until your skin is back to full health.
Lunchtime Peel:
Lighter treatments have little to no downtime. Mild redness and swelling are normal, but you can cover them with makeup after a few hours. Most patients can return to work the following day.
Deeper Treatments:
Taking care of deeper wrinkles or scars requires a more intensive therapy for dramatic results. However, you may need up to 7–10 days of downtime to allow your skin to recover.
